IT IS THAT TIME OF THE YEAR TO SHARE WHAT I GOT FOR CHRISTMAS. SO WHAT CHRISTMAS PRESENTS DID I RECEIVE THIS YEAR?
Ilove to give presents. But mostly, I love to give meaningful presents. I think of what a person will really use or what they need and give that to them as a present. Or I love to give experiences. Experiences live in our hearts. But more and more I am starting to enjoy receiving Christmas presents. Especially because I feel like my family and friends know me a lot better than in the past. Of course I appreciate every single present I receive but I also love it when a present is well thought out. This Christmas, I definitely received some awesome presents and I will talk you through them; explaining why I loved every one of them.
WHAT I GOT FOR CHRISTMAS 2017
Money
The first present I received this Christmas was money from my mum. This is always a safe choice for presents because we all do not mind a little extra money during the holidays and even after the holidays. Since my mother and I live in different countries, it is also a smart choice because buying a present and sending it always costs so much. Additionally, my mum considers me to be one who is difficult to shop for. So this is a nice escape from worrying about what to buy. Finally, mum is very thoughtful. I have only just moved to The Netherlands and currently not working yet. So she knows that giving me money to spend on whatever I like would be much appreciated.
Blog hosting
Those who know me would know that I love social media and I enjoy sharing my life and sharing information on the internet. I feel like social media is a way to reach so many people at the same time. And if the information you share is helpful, you can change someones life without even realizing it. So getting me a blog hosting is such a thoughtful present. Not only am I thankful for this present but it actually motivates me to work hard on the blog. This present was given to me by my father-in-law. Totally unexpected and atypical present and one that I truly appreciate.
Walk Off The Earth ticket
We all know this awesome band of five on YouTube. They make the most entertaining covers with the craziest instruments. From spoons, to ukuleles to playing intruments with their legs, to five people playing on one guitar. This band is incredible. A ticket to see one of their shows is so so cool and something to look forward to in the new year. This present was also given to me by my father-in law. Awesome present that I will get to enjoy with the family. Exciting.
La Vie Est Belle Perfume
We all have that one scent that is totally us. The scent that if ever discontinued, we would lose our minds. For me, that perfume is La Vie Est Belle by Lancome. This perfume makes an entrance. Everything about that perfume is total perfection. It mixes very well with my pheromones and produces the most magical scent you can ever imagine. So you can imagine the look in my eyes when I unwrapped my present and saw the beautiful packaging of my favorite scent. So so glad. This was given to me by my mother-in-law. She nailed this one.
Aimee Song Instagram Guide
I love books by bloggers because I can totally relate to them. I get a lot of inspiration from fellow bloggers. But I also feel like they have worked so hard to be able to get to that point. So seeing them succeed is always so beautiful. Aimee Song from Song of style is one of the first fashion bloggers I ever followed. So to receive her book was really a nice surprise. It is an instructional guide on how to up your Instagram game, build your brand and showcase your style. I do not think you can ever get enough knowledge. I am open to learning so much more and this will be a very good tool for that. Very excited to spend some time this holiday reading this book. This present was from my sister-in-law. She definitely put in a lot of thought into this present.
Tweezerman Tweezer
A very unorthodox present indeed. But this present for me is much needed. If you have read my earlier posts, then you would have read my post about Trichotillomania (TTM). I love and need tweezers. Since I have a love-hate relationship with hair on my face, I search for good tweezers. I try to deal with the compulsion but on certain days, I spend so much time trying to get stubborn hairs out. Tweezerman tweezers are considered to be the “tweezer of all tweezers”. Recommended by make-up artists, this present will save me so much time in front of a mirror. Being so expensive for what it is, I would typically not get this for myself. So this is a very nice present. This present was of course given to me by someone who knows me very well. My husband.
HP Sprocket
Another unexpected one. When I opened this present, I was a little puzzled because I had never heard of it and I had no idea what it was. But as soon as I was told what it does, my excitement level went up to 100 pretty quickly. This little device allows you print pictures from your smartphone. Being a photo junkie, this is something that I will totally enjoy. The prints are also stickers; which I love. I printed out some photos already and the quality is pretty good. Very impressive gadget. Hubby did a good job with this one.
Christmas Cards
Words mean so much to me. It is no surprise that I enjoy writing as well. A nice christmas card with beautiful words is always a yes. And believe it or not, I save these and read them back. Got a few of those from family members. Really appreciate them all.
